Poll question: What do you usually wear on your feet in your own house?
Edited on Tue Sep-16-08 06:28 PM by WritingIsMyReligion
When you're chilling at home for a while, no place to go, what's on your feet--if anything? I love going barefoot, though I will don socks in the winter on those days when it's just unbearably cold even in a nice heated house. :)

ETA: If you're here to discuss foot fetishes--sorry, but this isn't the thread. :)

10. INSIDE the house? Usually socks and shoes, or socks.
It depends. I rarely do otherwise. I HATE flipflops and sandals, I will not wear them under any circumstances.

14. I grew up with hardwood floors, my feet are numb to cold.
I never wear socks inside.

My grandmother always yelled at me to put socks on when she saw me going barefoot on the hardwood floors in February. But I never did.

At least, not after I was running in socks on a freshly waxed hardwood floor and learned what inertia meant.

15. Faux shearling slippers around the house. I hate socks!
I'll wear socks out on social occassions in the winter, although here in the deep south, winter is a thing of the past. Otherwise, it has to be about 20 degrees F (usually on a fall/winter camping trip in the Smokies), before I'll wear socks to bed. Otherwise, I usually hang my bare feet out from under the covers.

25. I think Americans go barefoot on purpose more than most others.
after all, a lot of people don't own shoes.
We own lots of them and don't wear them by choice.

It's a wierd world.

20. I have to wear a splint
I have a heel spur on my left foot, so the doctor made me wear a night splint to try to correct the plantar fasciitis. I am not allowed to go barefoot, so I wear Crocs on my right foot when I'm in the splint.

26. My shoes come off inside the door.
I'll drag on some woolly socks if it gets too cold in the winter.

On the kibbutz, I used to leave my shoes and flips outside on the porch in front of our shack. The Israelis asked if I was Japanese.

28. it all depends
i have been trained to not wear shoes in the house (a rule i'm trying to instate in my house, but with limited success). i usually pad around the house in my socks when i get home unless it's warm, then i go barefoot. but i'm also just as likely to be wearing my slippers because i'm less likely to slip on the hardwood floors than if i'm wearing socks.

long, convoluted answer to a simple question :P

30. My dear WIMR!
I have a pair of cozy warm slipper socks that I always wear indoors...

I wear socks under them, to keep the slippers clean, and to fill in the extra space...

It makes me happy to wear them!

When my feet are warm and happy, then I am too...
