Went to Exxon for the first time since Valdez and they tried to rob me! |
|
I've boycotted Exxon all these many years but today I was almost out of gas, it was cheaper than the only other station nearby, and I was in a big hurry to pick up my son. I thought, "What the hell, just this once, they're all pigs anyway!"
So I ask for $40 worth of gas, paid the guy $40, and start driving away through hideous traffic. I notice that, blocks away, it still shows less than half a tank. Well, gas is high, but so far it doesn't take $80 to fill a Camry!
So I drive back, through hideous traffic, and the guy gives me back the $20, no problem. I have the feeling he tries this all the time.
So that was my instant karma. No more Exxon for me!

1. Reminds me of the scam parking ramp tellers try |

Hand them $20 and they'll give you change as if you paid with a $10. If you catch them, it's always "oops, sorry." If you don't, they make $10.

In this case, pretty dumb though because it makes a BIG difference in your gas gauge! You'd think most people would notice.
