5. Thanks, jasonc.
I don't blame the guy... we're stressed... but it's still bad. He says, I don't care if you work at McDonald's. Easy for him to say, Full Professor of Physic. I'd like to see him serving fast food first, to tell me how he likes it.

Grr. The worst thing is, he's right.

23. After college I'd drink on Thursdays at the Irish pub
and stagger to Berklee where I worked, to suffer through most of the day. At this stage, that would probably kill me but, OTOH, I don't get hangovers from just one or two drinks anymore... just a fuzzy feeling.

Here's to you, Elrond: :donut: :P

Thank you, pawpicker. I've recovered from the event and will now bow out... and so, to bed. He may think I suck, but I KNOW I'm better, because I'm looking forward to tomorrow instead of wishing to prolong a meaningless night.

28. Do you have a spouse waiting in the wings to divorce you once
you get a good job? Actually, I don't think that matters much to me. C(here's) to our both finding decent work that we enjoy and that pays a wage we can live on! :toast:

Now, to bed. Godnight, samuraiguppy. :hi:

29. shit--that really sucks.
no I had a GF whose biological clock was ticking and she was pressuring me to get married. I don't feel ready to marry and have kids immediately so I was dragging my feet----when I lost my job that decided things for her--she dumped me immediately.

People can suck. I can't say it didn't sting though...

one minute she couldn't live without me--nothing would make her happy except to get married and have kiddies immediately--and then the next minute it is see you later samuraiguppy--you unemployed, worthless bum.

Thank goodness for DUers. Nice to make a new friend--we'll talk later!

30. I'm drinking a truly bland characterless Rhine wine.
I like you too much to offer you some, crimmy. B-)

I bought a cheap jug of the stuff to simmer some chicken in. (I made dinner for my wife last Friday...) The chicken was great. I couldn't tell if it was because of the wine I cooked it in, or in spite of it.

31. I feel your pain
I had lunch on Sunday with my ultra conservative dad. He'll never forgive me that I get SSDI (I guess I deserved it, as I got it on the first try on 2 doctor's exams and without a hearing, and my 3 year review was earlier this year, and after getting my doc's report and my narrative, they said "never mind"). According to him, social welfare shouldn't exist, and each person should pull their own weight, regardless of ability or health (and he's against universal health care). That's bad coming from your own dad, who was kicked out of the hospital while you're being born, and then struggling during the first several days for life.

You're unemployed, in a bad economy. Yet, you're nurturing 3 kids, thus you're contributing to society in the best way you can now. Later, you'll find another opportunity to contribute. Don't give up!

Hopefully, better days are ahead of us.

And, btw, I'm on my umpteenth beer...so there!

32. Just gonna let you know if you don't already....
... if it's a collection agency calling and not the original creditor, you can make them stop calling.

The key word is "inconvenient".

I just had a CA for a medical bill agree to waive the bill (I was fighting with my insurance company over it and the original creditor sent it to an agency) because they continued to call me after I informed them it was inconvenient.

Wishing you the best of luck, and I'll take a nice glass of white wine.

33. I never think alcohol is a good idea
but I always thought you were pretty cool, and have violet eyes to die for too.

That could just be the alcohol talking though.

It could, if I was drinking, that is.
