Asking for good thoughts and energy

My husband, who has been in Gary, IN for the past three days helping out with the massive flooding there (National Guard), just got a call that his beloved Aunt has passed away. She was also his Godmother, but should really be given credit for being his mother. His actual mother didn't do half the job this lady did raising him. She also raised two great daughters practically alone before she remarried.

His guard unit is replacing him so that he can come home (thankfully!), then we will be driving to his home state of PA on Thursday.

She was the person he felt closest to in a family that isn't a very close family, so he is obviously hurting.

She was a great person, welcoming me into her home countless times when we visited. We will miss her.

We were going to try to leave tonight if hubby got back earlier, but he is still trying to get home. There is a lot of flooding problems in nortwest IN that no one really knows about.
