6. well, realistically, the internet is a cruel, cruel place

If I wanted to post intimate family stuff so that I could easily share it with others, Youtube is the last place I would do it. I wouldn't even share that kind of stuff on DU. There are a lot of other sites you can upload to without the whole of the internet stumbling across it and making whatever anonymous and possibly hurtful comments they wish. Remember how many adolescent kids make up the demographic of youtube.

Then again, if you WANTED strangers commenting on your kids and chose youtube specifically to get a lot of views, I would question the wisdom of exposing your family like that deliberately and tell you that you're pretty much getting what is absolutely expected from youtube audience.

Do I think the person is a jerk? Yes. Am I personally hurt by it? No, not at all. Oh, the horror...somebody living in mom's basement gave my son a one-star rating while taking a break from masturbating to pictures of women dressed as Klingons. Whatever shall I do?
