Poll question: When driving, lights on or off (daytime)?
Edited on Wed Sep-17-08 03:32 PM by flvegan
Personally, I live in a community of idiots, so I drive with my lights on at all times. Give them every chance possible to see me, I figure.

4. I drive with my lights on at night
and with the lights off when it's daylight.

I often get flashed at night because my lights seem particularly bright. They do seem to illuminate quite a distance of road. People probably think I have the full beam on. So I give them a flash of the real full beam to show them what that is like.

16. I drive a Mini Cooper
I drive with the running lights on so the fat asses can't use the excuse that they didn't see me. BTW, I'm not dissing all SUV drivers, as we also have Jeep Liberty TDI, we also drive with the running lights on that one too.

18. Lights off in the daytime
Unless it's foggy, or raining really fucking hard. I do not understand the point of having lights on on sunny days at all, in fact it usually adds to the blinding glare if anything.

21. I have running lights, but I turn my headlights on as well
because I like how people tend to move out of the way when I'm in the fast lane -- perhaps thinking I'm a cop. ;)

I got into the habit the first time I went to Toronto and noticed how everyone in Canada drives with their headlights on .. can't remember if it's the law or just a custom, but I think the practice definitely enhances safety.

23. ON, always.
I used to drive a truck for a while, and there is a great difference in being able to see oncoming traffic with and without lights. It is much easier to see cars displaying lights, even in the daytime, and I am convinced this prevents many accidents.
