Just wanted to let everyone know that I did it!! I am a new MOM!!!

She is perfect. She weighed 7 lb. 10 oz. and was 20" long. Blondish hair!! I thought it would be dark! I was induced Sept 15. I was having terrible contractions for about 8 hours before I could get an epidural. I pushed and pushed for hours and we realized her position was keeping her from getting through the pelvis. I had to have a cesarean, which was a weird experience, but she came out healthy. That is all that counts. Monday was the longest but greatest day of my life.

As soon as I get home from the hospital, I will post her perfect pics!!!!!

but the healthy baby is ALL that matters.

Take your time getting on your feet. You've had MAJOR surgery. When you get home, if you can arrange it,
get some help--even if it's only someone to watch the baby while you take a shower and nap, or go to the grocery store.

My wife's getting her membranes done next week if she does not go before then.

Having to be induced (I assume pitocin) without an epidural is the worst, far worse than doing it "naturally," or so I'm told. For our first, my wife had to go through 16 hours on pitocin with no epidural. The problem with the pitocin, which we didn't really realize until later, is that the whole is use to accelerate labor is actually an off-label use. It only increases the strength of the contractions, without doing anything for the dilation. Congratulations on making it through and getting a beautiful (and tall) baby girl!
