You probably know already that my favorite Celts are in Galicia, Spain.

2. Jesus, she's god. Hey, did you also know that there's a region in Italy where the music

sounds an AWFUL lot like Celtic music? I kid you not. I don't remember for sure where the region is, but back in the early 1980s when I had an Irish band, we advertised for a fiddler. One of the people who responded was a guy from that part of Italy, and damn, did his fiddling sound like he grew up in Connaught.

I've often noticed some fiddle chords in Mexican mariachi music that sound very Celtic to me.

But then again, there's a much more recent explanation for that...
