Has anyone ever heard of not getting a gift receipt for an item? |
|
We bought my mom a sapphire necklace for her birthday. It was about $200. Gave it to her and she loved it.
A couple days later she called and said she needed the receipt. I asked if something was wrong with the necklace. She said no, it's lovely, but the agreement states that if it needs cleaning or repair or whatever she had to have the receipt. I asked Paul about a gift receipt and he said, no, they'd only given the sales receipt.
So now I'm waiting for Kay Jewelers to give me an answer to whether or not I have to give my mom a receipt showing how much we paid for her gift before she can have it cleaned.
Does this make sense to anyone else?

1. My store doesn't give gift receipts. |

It's a bit strange, but I think it's mostly because our computer system isn't set up to store every single transaction and call it up when we need it... we need the receipt so we can see what the price was if they have to return it or anything like that.

Especially with everything in the world being computerized now, there is no reason why they shouldn't be able to give you a gift receipt. :(
