Poll question: POLL: best actor (of those listed here)
I know there are many other fine actors, but which of this quartet do you think is the best?

1. DeNiro edges out Jack and Al.
Screw Duvall, the pig.

2. OK, hang me high
But I voted for Duvall. History has taught us that one can be an Absolute Grade-A Asshole, and still be talented in some area. Ask any of Hemingway's ex-wives, or the many friends that Wagner cuckolded (speaking of Wagner, he really was a Fascist Bastard, but he wrote some damned catchy tunes).

HATE his politics. Am in awe of his performances.

3. I think Jack Nicholson is greatest listed there.
It's a difficult choice, but I love "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," "Five Easy Pieces," and "About Schmidt." :)

5. Well...
Since Rob Schneider is not in your poll I'll go for Robert De Niro. But there's no comparison

possible between Rob and Bob. :P

6. I had such a big crush on Robert Deniro when I was in my early twenties.
A friend did too and we had a VHS film festival with Deniro movies.

7. They are all great. But I've gotta go with Jaaaaaack on this one.
Nobody commands the screen like Nicholson.

11. They've been around so long they tend to play themselves now.
They've both done some amazing stuff in the past though, like Raging Bull and Dog Day Afternoon.

Now they're like Sean Connery and play themselves more often than not. It's hard to watch them sometimes because I see them as them and not always as the character they're playing.

I like them all but, personally, I'd rather watch a movie with Willem Defoe or William H. Macy any day. :)

10. I got to go with DeNiro, if for no other reason than Taxi Driver and Raging DeNiro...er, Bull.
Not too mention Midnight Run, which happens to be one of my favorite comedies.

They're all excellent (though I think Nicholson tends to overact sometimes), but DeNiro's performance in Raging Bull tops anything the others have ever done, imo. It's one of the most amazing performances I've ever seen from anybody.
