Woke feeling absolutely miserable for no good reason unless it's cutting back on the antidepressants, or the frost last night, or being alone in a silent, cold house that will never sell - no, not in my lifetime, or not having ten bucks to blow, or having the husband mad at me for not working any old place, or having a daughter who now believes she is the messiah, or being on meds that have packed on twenty pounds, or having an argument with the boyfriend over child-rearing, or having none, zero, nada close friends in the area to whom I might confide or with whom I might share a coffee and a few words. Boo hoo. Seriously. BOO HOO!

My friend Maineiac got a girlfriend who dislikes me, and will not have him spending time with me. We exchange occasional emails.

I feel your frustration. My problem is more that my friends are evenly divided about what to do regarding the rift between my maybe-former-s/o and I. Some say fight to salvage it, some say go and don't look back. My therapist says make a little distance, but don't close the door just yet. I don't know what to do....
