Today's College Football Thread
The big game this week is Auburn vs. LSU, both top 10 teams. Auburn, you may recall, won last week in a real pitchers duel (3-2) against Mississippi State. LSU has shown a little more offense in their two wins, but the game is at Auburn. The only other game between ranked teams today is Wake Forest vs. Florida State. Georgia and Arizona State is the next best thing, and the Sun Devils would be ranked if they hadn’t fallen to UNLV in overtime last week. The other big game is Florida’s first SEC matchup, against Tennessee. A few other games of note between undefeated teams: Boise State plays Oregon and undefeated Utah plays undefeated Air Force.

My Oklahoma Sooners are off this week, as is Illinois, so I’ve got no particular game to gear up for. But next week Illinois plays at Penn State and Oklahoma plays TCU, who will probably be just in the top 25 by then. :woohoo:

So what game are you looking forward to?

1. Ohio State in another battle with the men of Troy
but this week it's Troy State, rather than the USC Trojans. They're up 14-10 late in the first half.

15. I guess I can't get it here either
Last week, my cable network had all the Big 10 Network games available, with the other regional games on overflow channels. But this week, it appears they're only showing Northwestern vs. Ohio. :grr:

19. Nothing like seeing a Big Ten powerhouse
struggle with "pushover" teams. I'm an Ohio State fan, but I'm having a hard time not rooting for Troy.

21. I can't help cheering for those teams either
It's always exciting to see them hanging in against the big names :)

Meanwhile, Ohio State has the ball back again, and it looks like they'll get away with this one ...

Offense looked a little rough in the Tulane game, but came back nicely last week.

7. Central Michigan and Purdue are tied 10-10 at the half
CMU's quarterback, Dan LeFevour, has just 50 yards through the air -- about a third of what you'd expect. If he gets hot in the second half, look out Boilermakers! Remember the name -- he's one of the best QBs you've never heard of.

30. OK at the half; State 10-0.
Just OK. Excellent defense, Ringer is fine, but Hoyer - again - is not getting the job done. To be fair, his receivers have dropped a couple balls, but Hoyer is just not very good.

Great to see the beautiful weather there. It's a gorgeous campus, and I don't live in the state now, but hope to retire back to Michigan in a few years.

East Carolina got the ball first, but fumbled, and the NC State scored a quick TD on their possession to win the game.

37. Well, from one ducks fan...
Hey, we didn't show up in the first half. But you must admit, you were scared when we came back in the 4th, after moving to a Free Safety for a QB, i think he did pretty well. I mean come on, we have like 1 QB left. Considering that, the Broncs should have never let us come back. And there was nothing quiet about Autzen Stadium during the 4th Quarter!!

"Pac-10 Re-jects!" I lol'd when I heard that from the crowd!

Go Ducks

38. Well spoke!
And it's true. That could have been a tank job, but the Ducks fought back. I got worried when BSU missed the field goal that would have made it 40-26.

BSU went prevent and, of course, that was a quick TD for UO.

Then the onside kick and I was thinking Oklahoma game all over again. (sorry Fishwax!)

"Pac-10 RE-jects"? Isn't that the kind of taunt that Belotti put to words on TV a couple years ago when he said pre-bowl game that BYU wasn't even good enough to be a mid-level Pac-10 team.

And then got Beat?

Pac-10 has got no room to talk shit.

GO BEAVS!
