Ping Pong weather in Oklahoma...does this happen anywhere else? |
|
Three days ago, it was in the 60s here. Then it dipped down to 20. Now today, it's gonna be back up in the high 50s. Tomorrow it's gonna be in the mid 60s. Everyone's sick and hacking. Does this crap happen anywhere else? God, I'll be so glad to get out of Oklahoma. Tell me where to not go to avoid this crap. Duckie

The weather, whether you like it or not, is very steady there.

our winters are having more cold days (in 50s, 60s) then we used to but our summers, so far, are about the same temp. Low 90s in the day and 80s at nite. (we are in the sub-tropical zone)
but with global warming no one can know what the weather will do. and the scientists say it will get worse and harder to predict.

On a daily basis. 60 degrees at noon, 3" of snow by 7:00pm. True story. We never put away our winter clothes, nor do we stash our shorts and t-shirts.

It's the only place where you can build a snowman in April wearing a bikini and have to wear a jacket to watch the 4th of July fireworks.

has very stable weather. When it starts doing something, it generally does it for a while. I remember one time in late winter in Seattle, I'd check the weather every morning before getting on my bike to take the Burke-Gilman to UW, about a 4-mile ride. There was a period when it was cloudy, drizzling, and 53 degrees, every day without fail for 6 weeks straight! Great weather if you like fireplaces and hot chocolate - and if you don't, you can usually drive out of it by going to Olympia or the San Juans. Also, in the summer, and sometimes in January, you get long stretches of glorious clear weather - you can confidentally plan picnics weeks in advance.
