His policies are having their inevitable effect, for sure (but remember Clinton was president when Glass-Steagall was repealed) but note that McCain is offering nothing other than Bush's economic policies without the Bush. No sign of humble pie from the Republicans, then. Do you think the politicians will have the brains and courage to demand any quid pro quo from the financiers, now that you taxpayers are bailing them out after they steered the ship onto the rocks? No need to answer that; it was a rhetorical question.
