I am *officially* old.
Tonight's Saturday Night Live, I have no idea who the host is nor who the musical guest is. To top it off, they announced the lineup for next week, and guess what? No clue who the host nor the musical guest is.

Never heard of any of these people, and they need to stay off my lawn, dammit!

4. James Franco was in Spider-Man.
He played the Green Goblin's son and later, the Green Goblin himself.

Next week's host, Anna Faris, is the blonde girl in all the "Scary Movie" movies.

I like them both.

James Franco played Harry in Spider Man and is currently staring in Pineapple Express. Kings of Leon sing Molly Chambers, which played on some car ad I think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOX8T5aH2IA

Either that or I'm too old too. And since I'm 27, I'm guessing that's not it.

I didn't know James Franco either, but I was JUST thinking about how...er..hot he is, when "The Cougar Den" sketch came on.

And I realized the Cougars were all played by women younger than I am.

Somebody pass me a Bellini and a Xanax.

On the bright side, they just nailed the college RA mentality in the opening. Apparently not much has changed since I was in college almost a quarter of a century ago.

my husband drove shitboxes for 15 years so finally he starts making money and he needs a car ok, so anyhow the town we grew up in was the type of place that when you made it you bought a cadillac, now hubby is italian and the whole caddy thing, well i just kept my mouth shut. Anyhow he ended with a Porsche and now his job keeps him overseas 7 to 8 months a year so that spiffy new Porsche just sits in the garage.

41. I do pity you.
I am just now coming out of my midlife crisis. Mine started about 35/36 to. It's hard coming to terms with becoming older. I had this whole sense of who and what i was that kinda came crashing down around me. I started losing the physical tools that had made me who i was. Coupled with my kids becoming independent, and leaving in this period, i had a hard time redefining me.

Now though here some years later i'm finding that i have new tools, and talents that i did not have, or use before. No i don't care whats cool or in, i care and think more about other things that actually matter. I also actually posses way more patience, and tolerance than i ever did. It was almost like becoming a teen and working my way into adulthood. Except the hormones are not raging, waning.

It can be a rough trip, but there are some rich rewards at the resolution.

A midlife crisis would involve a hot vegan younger girlfriend in another state.

and you move across the country to be with her, driving your new Porsche...

16. I have a collection of baseballs, 2 cats, and I was
talking to a wild dog in my yard like he actually understood what I was saying. Then again, he did go lay down when I told him I didn't have any leftovers yet, but was going to get food.

In any case, I haven't seen anything remotely resembling Rock and Roll to me since the 50th wave of punk in the mid to late 90s. I don't count the angry white right wing male Limp Biscuit type stuff at all as Rock and Roll either. *cringe*

Don't feel bad. I'm officially old now too. I'm turning into the crazy lady with all the cats who keeps the kids' baseballs. So far, I have 5 of them. Two since moving to this place 5 years ago. There are probably more, but I haven't looked closely at the yard. I know the kids cross to the other side of the street when they see me...the smart ones do anyhow.

is wondering why SNL, with their political bend, isn't putting a reunited Rage Against the Machine on the show. Or, oh, hey here's one...Rise Against has a new disc coming out. Yet, they front this garbage.

Confession: at the time, I liked early Limp Bizkit. I did do it all for the nookie. Now it's just good gym music.

20. Snyergy.
Almost invariably, the "musical" act or d list celebrity hosting the show has a project coming out from another division of whichever corporate monolith owns NBC.

There's no incentive to book great acts owned by the competition when you can boost the mediocre sales of your own crap.
