It is 1:00 ON Sunday morning, and I am here weeping, thinking of quitting my job.
No one does anything at my job except for me. I was sick on Friday with a bleeding ulcer (I wonder why?) and I had something messengered over to a client of ours. It was urgent, and of course the messenger fucked it up and did not deliver it.

I am under so much stress, I am about to just pull my hair out. I will probably be fired on Monday because of someone else's fuckup. I am the only person who shows up at the office not hungover and from a one night stand, I do all the work and I am sick of it! It is time for people to step up. I am so angry right now. I checked my work e-mail and now I am sitting here alone and weeping. Why are people so fucking incompitent!? This whole mentality of "someone else will clean up the mess" is killing me.

I am working so hard and not getting any credit. I will of course be blamed for it. I have to quit for my own sanity!!!!!!!!

1. Sannum, honey,
  So sorry. Can you just rest today and give it a good think over? It sounds terrible, but you can try to get some control over it. I hope you can.

2. I wish I could.
I am about to have a stroke over this whole situation and I can't relax. I went on vacation a few months ago, and all I did was clean up messes that other people made in my absence from my laptop and cell phone. I am tired of people taking pride in being stupid and leaving me to clean it up.

If you are paying a company to do something, they should fucking do it. I am so angry now.

3. My dear Sannum...
It sounds like a very toxic environment, and you are not thriving, not surprisingly...

I know the economy sucks right now, but are there other jobs that would work for you?

I'm so sorry that you have to endure this, sweetie...

4. Find your happiness
In my previous career, I was earning twice what I do now, and would now probably be earning three times my income, but i was miserable and unhappy. I, for the most part, love what I do now and do not ever wake up dreading going to work, and that is worth so much more than $$$. What is your passion?

5. Been there, done that. And didn't even get the T-shirt.
I'm sorry, I don't have any solutions to offer.

I can, however, offer you a hug.

6. I walked in your shoes...
Different situation, I worked with an ogre...in a preschool classroom! I went through hell for the entire school year....became physically and mentally sick, but stuck through it. I was dangling by a string, losing my mind. I wanted to quit, but children are my life...and have no other training.
It took the entire summer to deal with the PTSD...but I made it.

Please take care of yourself....
Stress and anger destroy us, and the incompetents don't feel a thing.
My heart goes out to you....I had to choose between sanity and financial survival....
I don't know if your situation puts you in the same space as I was in as far as knowing there were no other jobs out there for me...
I had to seek therapy and also deal with the physical problems that came as a result of the stress.

I just really feel for you after what I just went through...
Please feel better...do something for yourself.....
I hope that you're resting now....
Words that I always think of...from my dear elderly Quaker friend:
Hope. Patience. Peace.

Keep the faith...in yourself.
peace~

Our boss told us Friday to expect a new ad manager and to be sure to show them the ropes.

Because, I mean, there's nothing I enjoy more than showing someone who makes $50,000 more than I do, how to do their. Fucking. Job.

9. I am tired of it.
I literally work myself to the bone, and people who make more money than me just coast by, plan their weekends, and here I am on a weekend almost tempted to check myself into the hospital because I am feeling so stressed and ill.

This job sucked the life out of me. I have bad job luck anyway, but one would think there would be a time when I would be lucky and be able to enjoy a job, rather than feeling like I have no soul left because of it.

10. You clearly have a good work eithic and strong integrity...
Please do yourself a favor and go find a work environment where that is appreciated rather than exploited.

11. Start looking for a new job, and hang on till you find it...
when you do find that new job, tell each and every one of those incompetent losers 'fuck you! good luck!' with a big grin, as you walk out the door forever, leaving 'two fingers in the air' as Belle and Sebastian would say

12. They will fire the only person who does any work?
That doesn't sound very smart to me.

13. I'm guessing that they won't fire you
If you are the one that does the work and puts in effort. If they would fire you, maybe it would be relief as it has been for other people who I know who were in a similiar situation as you. Regardless, start looking for other work. Try not to let it get to you if anyone is giving you a hard time because you'll know that you won't have to work there forever.

I have been where you are, and I know EXACTLY how you feel.

First, I doubt if you are going to get fired. If everything you describe in your OP is accurate, your boss or bosses realize what a good worker you are, and they realize they would be hurting without you.

Second, you did nothing wrong. You cannot save the world, and you can't control the mistakes of others. We can just do the best we can and hope for the best.

Third, forget about the assholes that do not pull their weight. Concentrate on yourself only and continue to do the best you can.

Fourth, PLEASE try to put this all into perspective. When it comes right down to it, it is just a job. People die from stress, and NOBODY is going to take care of yourself but YOU.

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FIRST, FUCK THE JOB. If you get fired because of a mistake made by someone else, after being such a hard worker, then it is not in your best interest to work there anyway. You may not be able to see this now, but there are other jobs out there.

Your health HAS to be your first priority.

edited for clarity
