I didn't mean to suggest there were substance abuse issues. Rather, it sounds more like a relationship based on mutual neediness than one based on mutual love and respect-- that's the sort of codependency I meant-- like you're both so desperate to be in a relationship that even one you know isn't fulfilling is better than being alone.

That's what I meant by "being single." Perhaps I should have said "being alone" or "not being in a romantic relationship."

After our phone call ended abruptly ... and I thought everything had about hit bottom around here ~ another problem cropped up to deal with. My Trike blew a hydraulic line on my way home last night. I hope it's part of a break job that was done recently and is somehow covered by warranty or I am so screwed! On the plus side ~ it was safely parked in my garage when (as I took the dog out) I noticed a line of suspicious dark drops on the drivway.
