People , there is NO EXCUSE for not showering daily ,
unless you are homeless ...

Sigh , there is no tactful way of bringing this to the attention of a friend.

10. Wait until you're riding in the bus in the seat next to the old bavarian with lederhosen, slicked...
hair, and the aroma of rotting cabbage and korn schnapps wafting from him.

33. I've lived in Europe, I know that they can take it to the extreme
But demanding that someone shower every day, as if that's some accepted norm that only a deviant would ignore seems a bit extreme.

3. Uhm, I hope bubble baths count, because
I take those as often as I can afford it. Showers are ok and all, but not nearly as good as bubble baths in baby bath with lavender and chamomile.

7. That is not necessarily true.
If you use the right kind of hygiene products, you can get away with skipping a day.

30. Dr Bronner's castile soap...
...is really nice for sensitive skin.
I likes it for those days when it's so hot you have to shower 3 times because it's so hot and muggy you feel icky...
can't get through the summer without the peppermint soap.
The lavender is nice for winter, and if you mix them together it's heavenly.

Used to use the almond for my ex-sig other to give him a shave...he had really sensitive skin and shaving cream irritated him, but this gave him a really good shave and he liked the almond scent.

Only thing is that it doesn't have the long-lasting deodorant effect of a lot of commercial soaps...and that's not really 'bad'.

6. One excuse is the ability to get away with it.
Only some people develop sufficient funk to make daily bathing a necessity, and you may never know whether a given individual does.

There's no excuse for neglecting the minimum possible hygiene to avoid offense.

16. That reminds me of a joke my grandmother once told me.
Here is how it went:
There was this coworker at a mill here where I live. She smelled atrocious. No one knew what to do, so they got the supervisor to have a talk with her in his office. He sent her home with a bar of soap.

She came back to work the next day and still smelled atrocious. So, the supervisor had another talk with her in his office. He asked her if she had used the bar of soap and washed herself.

She said, "Yes, I washed as high as possible and as low as possible." The supervisor looked at her and thought for a moment. Finally, he said, "Well then, maybe you need to go home and wash possible."

:P

if you use just a little patchouli oil after a bath...then when you start sweating a bit, the effect is very arresting...
and I mean in a turn your head so fast you get a crick in your neck good way.

Remember that SNL skit with Gilda Radner advertising that perfume called Hey...YOU!?

And sometimes, I only take a quick bath too. Luckily, my hair only needs shampooing no more than 3 times a week.

I don't believe in daily showers because they use so much water. But I do think it's important to wash hands frequently.

40. Yep, me too.
If there's going to be housework involved, and I'm just going to get oogy and sweaty, what's the point? And usually by the time I'm done, I'm fucking exhausted.

Tonight, I'm very proud of myself. I cleaned house all day, and still had enough energy for a hot thyme-scented bubble bath with a Bailey's on the Rocks and a Scott and Zelda bio.

Yay me!

37. Sure there is. Not everyone needs a daily shower.
Dry skin and dry hair are two good reasons to go every other day instead of every day.

Some people get "ripe" 8 hours after a shower. Some people take two days to reach that point.

If your friend is unwashed and smelly, that doesn't equate to everyone needing a daily shower. All it means is that your friend could use a shower.
