Just had a vitamin pill stuck in my throat. |
|
Kept drinking water, trying to dislodge it. Took over 5 minutes. Gak!

That will force the pill down. You didn't know that?

2. Those pills are too big! |
|
I remember starting a thread about horse pills last year.

4. This is definitely a horse pill. |
|
And it's a gel pill, so cutting it in half isn't an option.
I think it might be worth it just to toss them, and get a different kind of vitamin, one that isn't so huge.

Hi SG...
I take 23 pills in one gulp. Included in that 23 is one vitamin horsey pill, as well as several other huge ones. I put all of the pills in my mouth, then take a big gulp of water...as big that I think I can get down in one or two gulps. Then, I "float" the pills up into my mouth, and swallow. You don't even feel the pills going down, just the water.
Sorry this one got stuck on you! :hi:

8. 23 pills, as in actually TWENTY PLUS THREE? Egad, I thought I was taking an awful lot of medicine |
|
after Mrs R made me go to a damn doctor for my first checkup since 1995 and (as I predicted) the doctor found stuff wrong with me...I'm up to nine pills a day (though not all at once), and it seems like a lot.
23 pills a day? I guess I ought not to complain.

9. Yes, but I guess to be less dramatic... |

6 of those are acidophilis capsules, and 2 are vitamins, and one is a baby aspirin. So if you subtract out the over the counter stuff, I'm down to 14.
Then one is Lipitor for cholesterol, even though mine is perfect...the doc uses it as a preventative.
So really, that leaves 13 "sick" pills, but several of those are "repeats" of the same medication, that I have to take more than one pill of.
So, I'm not at death's door or anything.

10. You're supposed to dissolve that one in water and soak your feet in it |
|
Remember that for next time.

So the vitamins will dissolve in the water, and I'll absorb them through my feet? :spray:

11. Few months ago I threw a pill straight down my throat |
|
I didn't mean to, I just chucked it in my gob and it sailed right down. Didn't even touch the sides.
I bet Bruce Lee took his medicines like that. :7

6. Be careful not to toss a pill into your mouth like you would toss a peanut. It can have the same effect as a tossed peanut, which is causing you to choke. http://www.hairboutique.com/askkaren/askkaren-12-2002.htm

It was a bit of a scare for me, especially 'cause it was stuck for over 5 minutes. My throat is still sore in the spot where the pill was lodged.

That is very scary...
I've had them stick for a few seconds, and that wasn't any fun...
Never mind over five minutes...:scared:
I'm glad you're OK, sweetie!

25. Thank you! It all started when, in a restaurant, I choked on a chick-pea. It took a loooong time |
|
to work back to even eating soft-boiled eggs! I've made up for that part in spades, heh, but not the pills angle.

Not as bad as when you get a fish bone stuck in your throat though
Although I shouldn't be complaining because my mom's cousin got a fish bone stuck in her throat and had to have surgery to remove it
