Milk-Chan needs Soft Paws™, asap
Edited on Sun Sep-21-08 06:08 PM by bicentennial_baby
Ow. In the past two days, I have received punctures to both my back and my neck. She apparently doesn't understand when claws should be in, not out, unlike PB. His claws are longer and sharper, but he knows when to keep them in, aka when dealing with human skin.

It's been 4 days, and I now have 4 Milk-Chan induced injuries. I'm not even trying to clip those motherfucking claws (excuse my language, my neck hurts). Off to the Vet for Soft Paws. It might not be great, but better than full on cat claw to my flesh, I think.

And it's only me. She doesn't mess with Sniffa. She's totally sweet, until she goes psycho, without warning. Sigh

I adore her, we just have to get past this problem. I'm just sick of being mauled.

3. Well there you go...
She's a Siamese cross with orange ears, tail, and legs.

The first, accident.

Second, play turned to aggressive clawing....normal, but she doesn't know how to control her claws. Nice back injury to me.

Third, typical under the covers play this morning, scratched up my leg.

Fourth, just now, picked her up make sure she was ok after her and PB got trapped in the closet (wtf? how did that happen?!), and she clawed right into the front of my neck.

She's trying my patience. Seriously. I'm so bandaged and covered in antibiotic ointment, it's not even funny. Serenity now!

2. I'm not looking forward to trimming my new cat's nails either
She's very friendly but she doesn't like to be held more than a few brief moments and I've got the claw marks to show she doesn't like when you touch her paws. I'm going to wait till she's been here a week before I attempt it, otherwise I may just get soft paws too.

4. A hint, do it when they've been sleeping
The drowsier they are, the better. I know that from PB. Make sure you don't do it when they've been awake and wired. If you can, try to have another person help you the first time. :)

6. When I first got Sophie
she would come tearing into the bedroom dig under the covers and attack my legs..scratching and biting..The vet said it was cause she thought I was another kitty and was playing with me like she would another cat..fortunately she outgrew it...It could be just really inappropriate play..Goodness if my cats kept playing with me the way they play with each other..I'd be covered with major scratches!

7. hmm, i wonder if she's jealous?
maybe she wants Sniffa to herself, is that kind of thing possible with cats? When i was a kid we had this really sweet dog, he was a german Shepherd collie mix and he was my dog really, he hated my sister (just like my husband does! hah!) and he didn't bother with my mother or step father.

8. I've thought it might be a gender thing
Edited on Sun Sep-21-08 06:31 PM by bicentennial_baby
I've given her my complete attention since she came here, and now I'm letting her get to know PB and Sniffa, and there might be an issue there, as Siamese cats are generally attached to one person. Still, I can't deal with getting injured every single day. I have a good immune system, but this is ridiculous.

:)
