Back to square one with PB and Milk Chan...
Sigh...

They were doing "ok" during their interaction times, but she's gotten more aggressive, and scratched him on the nose tonight. I think she's trying to be alpha, as she keeps eating his food, drinking his water, and today she went in his box. I'm afraid that she'll turn him into a nervous wreck if it keeps up. I just gave him a special dinner of wet food with lysine in it, to help his immune system while the scratch heals. He's chilling in Sniffa's lap right now. My poor little guy. He goes to sniff her, and she unleashes the claws.

So, for the next few weeks, she's in the bedroom, with separate roamings of the apartment, scent towel exchanges, and spying through the cracked door. I ordered the Feliway diffuser, so hopefully that will help too.

I adore Milk, but I can't let her terrorize my little man. It's stressing me out. I've never had cats with issues. I grew up in a house full of cats, and they generally got along fine. Maybe I'm getting neurotic. I dunno...

1. I hope you get your kitteh situation handled soon

I have never dealt with kittehs that fought with each other.

2. It's moderate fighting...
A little hissing, no growling, but claws out. It's so weird, as soon as they're separated, they're dying to get back together, but...it just doesn't turn out well. So they're going to have to take it slow and deal with it. No contact, gradual transition. I can't take the stress, and I don't need another emergency vet bill.

Thanks.

3. i had this go on for a couple of weeks with my gals, so when after a week i decided
i needed to stop segregating them, i got them both "soft paws". much harder to do damage with those caps on. plus they come in festive colors, like Caindy here in her reds.

i still get them put on before vacations, etc. just in case.
:hi:

My Vet will put them on. I'm going to talk to him tomorrow, maybe I'll make an appt for both of them.

:hi:

5. it made me feel really okay about leaving them alone together
my groomer doesn't even charge extra to put them on. which is good, because the caps them selves are pricey.
:loveya:
good luck with ALL your babies!
