I ran across this cute story today:
An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard; I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of.
He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head; he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.
An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.
The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour. This continued off and on for several weeks.
Curious I pinned a note to his collar: 'I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.'
The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar: 'He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 - he's trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?

3. This is a really funny story. |
|
:P
I could see one of my cats doing this if I can even one kid in the house. Silver would start checking out neighbors to find quiet places to escape for naps.
"Can I come with him tomorrow?" That line cracks me up.

is so great. It's a great comic relief from some of our boards tonight. I had a headache, but thanks to your post, I'm better now.

thank you for noticing I've been around so long.
I know I have a low post rate-but most of the time, I'm just reading. I try to soak it all in, but tonight other boards got to me. Usually I have a thicker skin, but tonight things just got to me.
Thanks again for the comic relief.

11. Oh, give yourself a little more credit. You are not kissing up, and I don't deserve such kudos. |

I read in GP and GDP too, and I am just as disgusted and discouraged as you are. Most of the time it just seems to me like an exercise in mutual masturbation of egos.
There are pearls of wisdom in both GD and GDP, if you have the time and patience to sort it out. I've learned a lot by reading both. I am just not willing to argue or debate about it, or try to convince someone else to see my way. A certain exercise in futility. See my sig line.
