Interviewees on TV after seeing Passion "Jeez, Jews DID kill Christ". |
|
Edited on Thu Feb-26-04 01:44 PM by Madame_Bovary
As channel 10 was interviewing people who had just seen the movie passion, it was heartbreaking to hear more than one person come out of the movie, and say Oh, the movie shows that the JEWS DID KILL Christ.
This is a very sad time for this country and and the media and for all mankind.
In our efforts to have Freedom of Speech, we have Freedom of Hatemongering.
A lot of people picked up on the message that Jews were responsible for Christ's death after all and that can only lead to one thing...before the US Nuremberg laws are enacted...I plan to emmigrate, truthfully, it was as horrifying as Kristallnicht, to see the glazed eyes of these people who had been as mesmerized by what they saw as Leni Riefenstahl's "Triumph of the Will" in the 1930's.
This is how these things get started for cinema is one of the most provocative brainwashing methods ever devised.
In any event, whatever happened was what the Lord seemed to have planned but people tend to do in groups what they would never do on their own.....mob psychosis or mob psychology, whatever you wish to call it.
This looks like a Christian Jihad is starting against the Jews once again.:grr:

The movie? The fact that it has provoked some anti-Semitic responses?

7. I think the story starts AFTER the altercation between Christ and the Jews |
|
From what I've heard, the story starts AFTER jesus enters a jewish temple, yells at the priests and dumps tables in the temple. Moviegoers do not see the crime only the punishment.
Now imagine in 2000 years we create a story called "The Hungry" and it shows a young man in jail for committing a crime and then shows him being murdered by his cellmates. . .awwww poor Jeffery Dahmer.
It is all in how you tell the story. (since I haven't seen this movie, I apologize if I am wrong in that it does not give the complete story).

9. Especially since in light of what probably happened... |
|
...it's wrong. There are so many known historical facts about the time and place that give the lie to the hypothesis (ie. that the "Judenrat" of the time *did not have the authority to do it,* for one), that, even assuming the story actually happened, and wasn't just made up by that crazed megalomaniac Saul of Tarsus so he could install himself as head of an up-and-coming powerful splinter movement, it seems like a lot of the so-called "facts" in the movie came straight out of Mr. Gibson's ass.

The America I grew up in is dead. When the smoke clears we'll see if that phoenix can get airborne through all the pollution. Fired up, misinformed fundies are VERY BAD NEWS.
