Petrolheads, a question for you.
I noticed driving with the window open, that when I give my car the beans, it makes a short hissing sound when I press the clutch to change gear. I was wondering what this sound is. It sounds a like a dump valve, except far quieter (and my car doesn't have a dump valve - obnoxious things).

It's got a turbocharged petrol engine. I was wondering if it has something to do with the wastegate. The car is young and seems to be in good order so I assume it's working correctly.

6. You've got the balance just right.
You aren't childish. You can live and take care of yourself, which is the most important sign of maturity. And you couple that with a childlike sense of humour which makes you fun to be with. Which is why I will love you forever.

3. Could be the wastegate.
Though for you to hear it like that, you must be coming off a good amount of boost. Do you know how many psi of boost your car makes when you give it the beans?

Dump valves are annoying.

4. Kids always let them off as they go by me when I'm walking
I am sure their only purpose is to scare the shit out of people.

I can't find the max boost pressure in the specs. That's a bit too technical for the normal literature. It's the same VW 200hp TFSI engine that you get in the Golf GTI and the Audi A4.
