I'm not in favor of using the ratings system in the lounge

for the same reasons that we didn't use the other system. The lounge is supposed to be stress free and congenial for the most part. It would be hard to keep that if there is background noise in your head about what kind of ratings will your post garner.

For GD and GD:P I think it's a fabulous idea.

5. We'll get used to it

We'll play "Oooo, I've got more 'must reads' than everybody, tee-hee!" with it for a week or so, like we do with the valentine hearts. But that'll get old, and in about a month we won't even notice the ratings are there.

The "Must Read" award could be a "MUZY". Someone get right on that. I'm too busy being unrated background noise to do it.

I think it will discourage less frequent (or popular) posters (like me) from posting a topic thread. I will just assume that no one is interested in my rant or whatever... and bite my "tongue". I think it has a dampening effect on the candor in the Lounge. JMO
