So I hear back from the yearbook staff advisor |
|
who tells me, with a straight face I might add, that her staff called me in May to ask me to send in other photos because the ones on the disk weren't the best quality and, according to them, I REFUSED!!!!!
Yeppers. Because, like most parents I know, when I try to something that I think will be a nice surprise for one of my children, I want it to suck as much as humanly possible. I'm just like that.
You cannot make this shit up, folks. You simply can't.
Gonna be needing my $300 back there, asshole yearbook advisor person.

3. I told this woman that that comment wasn't even remotely logical |
|
Why would someone (read, me) pay $300 for a surprise for their child only to have it be a piece of shit? And, I had forgotten about this part, I used some of the same pictures for a slide show, collage that was put into the Spring Choral program and that thing was published at the Tech Center.

7. You need to send them a picture of the but. |
|
In my yearbook, there is picture of me and some of my friends from French class. The caption reads: "mangez la merde et mourez! Students from the sixth hour French class wish CHS 'live long and prosper'!"
Yearbook editors couldn't read French, but a few parents could and were not impressed. I still think it's funny.

were good friends with the yearbook staff our senior year of highschool, so there is ALL kinds of shit scattered all throughout the yearbook that would have pissed off a teacher/s actually paying attention.

13. You know what's funny is that my wife |
|
really has done that the last couple of years for the elementary school, that my daughter went to. She and the band directory spend one night a week and then one afternoon on the weekend working on it most of the year. She has actually learned photoshopping quite well.

Before I even launched into why the ad was so unacceptable, she offered to refund my $300.
I think I might not be the only person who was unhappy. There were two other ads with blurry photos as well.

|
Or is that what school pictures are going for?

23. LOL. No, the yearbook was $65. |
|
And, a rip off at that. :eyes:
My daughter's graduating class was the first graduating class; new high school.
The yearbook asked if anyone wanted to place an 'ad' of sorts in the yearbook about their graduate. I did. I worked up an ad with pics of her and her siblings and her boyfriend and wrote a little blurb about how proud of her we are, blah, blah, blah.
It didn't print well at all. Completely and totally out of registration. The advisor 'tried' to tell me that they had called me and I had stated that it would be just fine as is, which is laughable. In a previous life, I did all the print communications for a major medical equipment company, so the idea that I would have allowed something to go to print that was this bad is ridiculous.
So, long story short, they're refunding my money. She actually offered rather early into the conversation that they would do that, so I think she knew she had fucked up.

'Cause we were kinda havin' a discussion about us hangin' out and gettin' in trouble, and then you said you attracted shit. I thought you might have me pegged and I was tryin' to get out of it. Actually, I've been called a LOT worse than that, so it wouldn't have been that big a deal. I was feigning shock and surprise.

But do they really need to lie about it? x(
I hate petty people like that. They have to cover up their problems by lying. You find them in the business world too, unfortunately working on far to many projects.
That advisor is training his/her staff is some really horrible ways to handle problems.
