22. For about 15 minutes back in 1985, it was considered cool to drip random drops of bleach
onto a new pair of jeans, causing weird and bizarre fade-patterns. When the fifteen minutes were up, people realized it was just a damned awful waste of a good pair of jeans. We went back to fading them the old-fashioned way.

23. Ankle boots, cropped jackets, Izod shirts with the collars flipped up...
penny loafers, deck shoes, parachute pants, jeans so tight you'd need a crowbar to get out of them, Members Only jackets, Ocean Pacific, Forenza, Esprit, Calvin Klein, Jordache, Sergio Valente. Actually, Gloria Vanderbilt jeans back then were also a hot item rather than the Golden Girls apparel they are now.
