Grossest Apartment EVER (Link)
http://www.houston-imports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=486938

Seriously, the grossest apartment ever... not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach.

Tons of photos, so dial-up warning.

1. I think I would knock down the house before I would try to clean that up...

2. I like the cleaning products scattered around the apartment...
Resolve and Febreze most noticeably. If this person had a job, they must have used a LOT of Febreze...

4. Agreed. It makes me sad to see it.
Especially since there's someone like that in my family.

5. That's truly disturbing.
I saw a story on Animal Planet once where this woman used to let her dogs crap in the house and they were trying to cure her of it, but this? I can't imagine what's going on inside someone's head to live like that.

6. Oh sweet Jesus.
It's a mental illness. It's called hoarding and it's connected with severe depression. I knew a lot of people who lived like this growing up. I have a sense of there-but-for-the-grace-of-God.

I got as far as the bathroom pics and started gagging, because I KNOW that SMELL.

9. Yeah, I don't think that's a hoarding problem
That's more like an anti-cleaning problem. Who keeps piles of cigarette butts? I don't think hoarders do that, do they?

And sheesh, my keyboard gets tweaky if I don't blow the dust out of it every so often, I can't even imagine a keyboard covered in cigarette ashes - sort of makes me think it may be staged?

But you gotta give that resident something for product loyalty!

I like using the couch arm to put out the cigarettes and then piling them on the table.

11. My last apartment looked similar to that before I moved in
Not quite as bad, but close. The previous tenant had apparently skipped out on the lease, andone week before I was supposed to move in, they finally looked inside the place and discovered "Holy shit, it's a mess! And the bathrooms is literally destroyed!"

Ended up having to wait a month before I could move in, even spending the first week of my junior year in a hotel, and even after I was allowed to move in, I had to wait a week before they put in the appliances...

Later, I found out the guy hadn't skipped out, but actually died.

20. Ummm... yeah. He did.
Didn't bother me too much until the weird shit started happening. I came home to find the clock radio I kept on the windowsill, next to the outlet, suddenly lying on the bed on the other side of the room, cord wrapped up nicely.

Stuff falling down, lights going off, shower coming on all by itself...

On the plus side, I brought a girl home once who found the possible presence of a ghost to be a major turn-on...

23. It's called hoarding.
Plus this one was filthy.

You wouldn't think it was funny if you had to clean up your parents' house and throw out tons of stuff because your mom made it unlivable, and you had to wait until she died to throw out so much as an empty coffee jar.

Don Aslett's books are the best on throwing out and cleaning up stuff. These people don't change. The only thing to do is to outlive them.
