Is it tacky to register for a divorce?

My co-worker suggested I register at Target for a divorce so that I can get new sheets, towels, etc. - nothing that has touched him. Plus, he got rid all of my wine glasses because they were not up to his standards, so now I have no glasses *gasp, the horror*

How tacky is it?

5. LOL
:spray::spray:

omigoddess.....

I burned all the slutty stuff he bought me, after I had returned it to him with a note that said "pay it forward". He tossed it back in my stuff, then I burned it in my firepit and went to yoga class.

Oooom.

3. Sounds like fun!!
I'd be much more likely to buy a friend a gift for that than a wedding.

6. sounds like I may be on to something....
Although, to be perfectly honest, I would hate to ask my friends to buy me anything at this point. We are all so strapped for cash between the economy and raising our kids.

Maybe I will make a holiday wishlist or something for my family...

4. Oh boy does that sound like an excellent idea!
of course I may not be a good person to judge. If you ever watched Seinfeld and saw the episode where George is complaining about paying for wine and cake to bring to a dinner party I kinda agreed with his argument that people would appreciate Pepsi and ho-ho's more anyway. And I like wine and cake but I don't think I'm a good person to measure level of tackyness.

You are so sweet, but really, I don't think I would ever REALLY do it. Although, I do plan on having a nice dinner party with some friends and drinking the 3 liter bottle of wine that we received as a wedding gift without him. He seemed rather disappointed that I said yes when he asked if I wanted it

It was a gift from his boss and it is super yummy.

20. well, it would be only a little tacky, after all
and it makes more sense, these days, then to register for a wedding, in some ways.

I think the dinner party/wine idea sounds like a good idea. Has he moved out yet?

27. Thank goodness!
I had seen that he wasn't going to leave until Tuesday, and that felt ridiculous to me. More than 2 weeks after asking for a divorce is really stretching it.

Hang in there, we're all pulling for you!

15. Question:
I'm not sure how serious your suggestion is, but I'm wondering if that might be perceived as celebrating the divorce. You might need to be careful about that where your divorce is concerned. I dunno... never really heard of anybody doing that.

17. It is mostly in jest my friend, but I will have you know
that he has listed himself as happily divorced on his myspace and is selling himself as a more to love body type. He is surely out there trolling for the next sucker to buy his wares.

16. I once attended a "The Bitch Took All The Christmas Ornaments" Holiday Party
Admission was an ornament for the tree.

It was a hoot. So not ONLY do I think you should register, I think you should throw yourself an "I lost 180 lbs" (or however much he weighed) party.

Mention the wine glasses. In fact, maybe THAT could be the theme. "Wine-Oh Be Mine-Oh" Party.

:woohoo:

It's very practical, since the purchase of new items is often required. And why not celebrate moving on instead of dwelling on unfulfilled wishes?

At the same time, maybe you could emphasize to your friends that used items are as welcome as new ones...

Go for it!
