I got the DUMBEST email today...
It was talking about how Christians are persecuted at colleges all over the country. And how some students were forced to watch porn for classes and stuff. BULLSHIT. No student is forced to stay in the room for any class and is free to leave at ANY TIME. There are high standards in all universities when it comes to shit like this. They are making up the persecution of the themselves in this country so that people will feel sorry for them. Those that are persecuted are the gays, lesbians, transgendered, bi students, the non believers or those of other faiths. You can't escape Christianity in this country. It's impossible. I've never seen a Christian Persecuted on this college campus. It's just the opposite. It's retarded how they keep saying that it's the end times. They're seeing what they want. They want to be right so bad, they are trying to make it come about, and it's not going to happen that way. I just throw up my hands and am speechless so much every time some retarded fundamentalist starts talking abou the end times. Oh shut up! /steps down off the soapbox.

2. nonsense
I have heard that crap all my life. They aren't persecuted any worse than any other minority group. The exception being that they have protections in this country that some other groups don't have.

Heard a great theologian on MPR this afternoon talking about symbolism in Christianity and how the cross was symbolic of the struggles and persecution that each Christian must suffer in earthly life. Popular Christianity today seems to forget that being a Christian is not to improve your lot in life today, but is to imrpove your lot in eternity.

They never really say.

6. There's a reason they don't say...
IF they had a real case, they'd say exactly where it was.
Since they don't, they leave it as 'in some colleges'.
Me, I'd say "In some colleges, like Bob Jones University, inter-racial dating is prohibited". They can't do that, though, because then you could call/email/contact somebody at that college and find out they are lying. Again.

5. I really think they're misusing the term "persecution"
Those who cry about this kind of thing usually think it's persecution if they're not allowed to proselytize their faith to everyone, everywhere, at all times. They seem to think they're being persecuted by the mere existence of those who disagree with them, or by the act of anyone disagreeing with them. That is NOT persecution. That is a difference of opinion. Persecution is being denied jobs, housing, loans, etc., because of your <whatever>. Persecution is being beaten or abused because of your <whatever>. Persecution is being rounded up and put in jail because of your <whatever>. It is not persecution when people disagree with you and don't particularly wish to have you spout off about whatever your particular spiritual beliefs may be in class.
