I don't own any, but seven live in my house right now. Each one is different from the others, but all of them have their little neurotic ideosyncracies. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Here's the difference between cats and dogs: Dogs look up at their masters and think, "Wow, this guy feeds me, pets me, provides me with shelter. He must be God".
A cat looks up at his master and thinks, "Wow, this guy feeds me, pets me, provides me with shelter. I must be God."

No one "owns" a cat. Anyone into "ownership" doesn't need a cat.

3. I have two. It's a love-hate relationship |
|
They're great to have around. I hate them when I step in a cold pile of their vomit early in the morning. I could go on and on. It depends on the cat and what your personality is like. they're definitely not for everyone.

18. Same here, and boy is he pissed at me right now. . . |
|
We just got back from the vet and he had a couple of little items removed that most males are rather fond of.
He won't even stay in the same room with me right now.

8. Well, I have legal title |
|
to two. Actually, they are community property.
1) Vanalike -- all the breed characteristics of a Turkish Van (including Vanattitude) but no papers. Evidently this is not uncommon for Van characteristics, an interesting genetic puzzle. She bit my wife on the nose yesterday, a love-bite that drew blood. That's Vanattitude.
2) Norwegian Forest Cat (weegie) -- she's blooded. Independent, likes everybody, can be a very committed lapcat when she feels like it, gets up on everything, really, really shaggy -- but I think it is the silky Vanalike who is responsible for the hairballs. My weegie is a runt. They are usually large.

Both fixed females. Both tiger tabbies. One is a black/tan the other a pumpkin tiger.
One is more socialable than the other and is pals with the doggie. The other is (after 3+ years) still skittish around the dog. (He's 10 times their size.)
They're fairly attentive and will listen to several commands. They're more pavlovian than the dog and don't adapt as quickly, but they're fun to have around the house.
It's really fun to see this little tabby girl (9#) following the 108# dog from room to room. The Professor

22. Four cats...4dogs...and |
|
the cats RULE! One is a Korat(17yrs young), one is a Siamese, and two are Balinese (long haired Siamese). They KNOW they are the bosses of the dogs and two of the dogs are huge. I have a 140 pound Irish Wolfhound, a retired racing greyhound that weighs 90 pounds, and two Border Terriers that normally would go after a cat. They don't because these cats were here before they were.
The cats are almost doglike in that they like to go for walks...
I love them all, needless to say!
