I was just wondering what you guys thought?

Have you ever had the distinct impression that someone you know is thinking about you?

Or is it just a stupid overactive imagination type thing?

The phone had NOT rung.

4. Either the phone has not rung and I pick it up..or the phone rings as I am about to dial it to call
the person who is calling me.

10. the reason i asked is because someone i haven't seen in over 15 years keeps popping up in my head
i attribute it to imagination or something...but it's kind of weird. I'll just be sitting there reading a book or something and BAM! - there they go popping up in my mind again. Haven't seen this person in forever.....

7. Yes.
It's also a strange feeling to suddenly think about or dream about someone you've lost contact with years ago, and then within a day or so read their obituary.

I've had that happen twice to me.

my good logical sense says "no"...
... but there are occasions where I've definitely felt that, including times where I know for a fact that it was true.... so... I doubt it, but who knows?

But who knows?

14. Then how about this:
Right now you're wearing swim fins and a viking helmet, and you had four pounds of chocolate covered pretzels for dinner.

My powers are beyond your comprehension!

That would explain how I knew about the fins and helmet, but not the pretzels.

17. Overactive imagination ...

Brief story ...

Almost two years ago, I was standing outside by my car after work, engaging in a daily routine of gabbing with a co-worker before heading home. The subject turned to music (he was a musician), and that inspired me to mention a friend of mine whom I hadn't talked to in 7 years who had managed a band.

Later that same night, I received an e-mail via MySpace from ... guess who ... that person I hadn't talked to in 7 years. We talked during the next few days, and I mentioned this, and we both "agreed" it was fate of some sort, which is to say we were struck by the coincidence. She even said she'd had this "feeling" I was thinking about her.

Here's the reality. This person was very important in my life, and I had long regretted her being absent from it. If I look back, honestly, I can see that I mentioned her or referred to her or something involving her in some way at least once a week. In other words, I'd thought about her hundreds of times during the previous seven years, and she had not sensed I was thinking about her.

Even a broken clock is correct twice a day.

22. Yes.
My best friend in high school and I used to do it. Other people would witness it... I'd say, I'm going to tell her to call me, and within a few minutes, consistently, the phone would ring. She'd do the same to me. So... draw your own conclusion, to me it felt too consistent to be coincidence. :)

24. ...yes...
usually, I will get a phone call from someone I'm thinking about, or see them the next day.

But, then, I still have imaginary friends.

26. My dad seems to have this ability
Edited on Sun Sep-28-08 06:41 AM by socialdemocrat1981
One day he kept thinking about my grandfather (his FIL) and he wasn't sure why

It turned out that my very ill grandfather (who was in a different country to my father) was calling out my father's name repeatedly during the course of the same day that my father kept having those thoughts about him.

27. A creepy thing happens to me once in a while.
I'll be in my car with lots of traffic, lots of people walking around. I'll notice someone who isn't even looking my direction walking away from me and I'll start to check them out -- and that person turns and looks right at me!

I could be wrong, maybe they are not looking at me directly. But they'll turn and follow my car with their eyes! When it happens it happens over and over again in the space of a few minutes with different people.
