The sprayer fixture and the showerhead on our shower is currently not functioning, so I had to bathe Toby with a big plastic bowl, by hand. Oh my god. There is not an INCH of me that isn't soaking wet right now. The dog is currently snuggled up with a big towel in the middle of the living room floor. He loves towels. It's adorable.

I have to say, I am grateful that he at least *likes* baths. Oy vey. My back is killing me! Leaning over a wet dog for twenty minutes, trying to work shampoo into that dense, thick, Golden-Retriever coat, is NOT good for my spine. Neither is the fifteen minutes of trying to rinse it all back *out*.

But, I now have a lovely, clean-smelling dog! He was beginning to put off some serious nose-noise, so this is a Good Thing.

Toby!

I wonder if I should push my luck and try to clip his nails? lol

3. Alas, we are hoseless.
No outside water spigot. :(

The big goofball is STILL curled up on the floor on the towel! Must be comfy!

2. My dear oktoberain!
My god, girl, please take care of yourself!

Toby looks fantastic, but your back needs care too, silly!

I'd enlist someone else to do his toenails!

It's great that he loves towels! What a mess it would be if he liked to walk around while shaking all that water off!

Nice to see you today, sweetie!

4. I actually have him "shake-trained".
He doesn't shake at all during (or after) his bath until I say, "Shake!" This allows me time to drain the water and close the shower curtain so he can shake to his heart's content before he gets out of the tub. He loves to be rubbed dry, too--it's really adorable. He snuggles into the towel, buries his face in it, and goes belly-up for his rubdown.

7. I had one of them, seeing him made me cry
I lost him to old age last December. It's as if they were twins.

9. I just did the same thing on Friday, but my puppysaurus is not the Rex variety!
He's only 45 lbs. of thick hair and muscle, and I thought that was big! I was soaking wet, too, but he looks and smells wonderful. He liked the bath, and the Towel Game :), but the nail clipping, not so much.

10. Our dog is overdue
for the groomer. Unfortunately, since he is a poodle, he needs a clipping every 2 months or so or he will just become one big ball of hair.
No shedding (good) and no dander (good, I'm somewhat allergic).
Have to take him to the $$groomer$$ (bad).
Plus mr 'pede would be scared to death to clip his nails, not to mention that 'tutch the but' thing they need to do.

12. My Uncle's hybrid springer spaniel loves to take baths
Just as long as your paying attention to him, he will let you spray him down, lather him up, and rinse him off. He has to get shaved once a year and he sits totally still for that. He just likes the attention.

15. What a handsome boy....
Bathing a dog is always a true test of our love for them. My GSD puts up with it, but I would not call it cooperation...and I always end up as wet as he is.
