Poll question: Okay Smarty Pants! Just HOW SMART Are You? |
|
When it comes to comparing your political knowledge to that of others... how would you rank yourself?
Do you feel challenged? Are you intimidated? Are you worried about appearing "dumb" or ill-informed?
Do you enjoy learning? Do you feel like you're helping others to learn something? Or are you just a show-off?

2. I put smarter than many.... |
|
But NOT smarter than the avg person HERE. I think the average American is just extremely uninformed, only gets whats fed by mainstream media, etc.... so the fact that I come here and read what all you smarties here have to say puts me way ahead of non-DUers!

I'm not like them But I can pretend The sun is gone But I have a light The day is done But I'm having fun
I think I'm dumb Or maybe just happy Think I'm just happy Think I'm just happy Think I'm just happy
My heart is broke But I have some glue help me inhale And mend it with you We'll float around And hang out on clouds Then we'll come down And I have a hangover Have a hangover Had a hangover Had a hangover
Skin the sun Fall asleep Wish away The soul is cheap Lesson learned Wish me luck Soothe the burn Wake me up
I'm not like them But I can pretend The sun is gone But I have a light The day is done But I'm having fun
I think I'm dumb Or maybe just happy Think I'm just happy Think I'm just happy Think I'm just happy
I think I'm dumb

5. Only 'cause of DU............ |
|
and my shameless dependence on the smart guys here.........I'm beginning to be someone who can hold her own with the Intelligentsia of Amish Country.
Most importantly......my older sister, who is the smartest person on the planet, or so she tells me......grudgingly told me I was well-informed.

That said, I'm grateful for the massive number of DU smarties. Thanks to finding this place, I'm able to rake Lim-Bots over the coals without breaking a sweat. It was easy before, but now they're fish in a barrel. It's gotten to the point that several of my old adversaries won't even discuss politics with me anymore. This place is a treasure trove of information. (Thanks Skinner & Company! Thanks DUers!)

11. But what does smart mean? |
|
More intelligent, such as IQ? More educated, as in more degrees? More widely read? More capable of doing critical thinking?

... then you wouldn't have an excuse not to participate. I imagine that some folks would be experiencing Jekyll/Hyde convulsions as they struggled with their desire NOT to answer, as the "I'm-too-smart-to-answer" option stares them square in the face.

Or rather, I think there are multiple intelligences, and that everyone has approximately equal potential, just in different areas.

I just got me a man who's so damn smart I can just point at him, say "What he said" and go back to filing my nails and posting in the Lounge.
On second thought, it was really hard work finding him. But now that I have, I can relax. Peel me a grape, Beulah.
