Here's your chance to edit The White Album! |
|
I ran this question last year. Had some fun with it, so I'm doing it again.
Flash back to September 1968. George Martin summons you to Abbey Road Studios. Seems the Beatles are about to release a new album, "The Beatles", but they have about twice as many songs as they need. He wants you to cull enough songs out of "the white album" to make one standard LP.
For those of you unfamiliar with LPs: they had two sides, with a maximum of about 25 minutes of music on each. That's your limitation.
Wanna tamper with a classic? How would you go about doing it?
I'm posting my votes below.

4. Ooops. I missed the point of the question. |
|
Have to think about that. But you can't talk enough about the White album without mentioning #9...

3. The first thing I would do, is scrap Revolution#9 |
|

Well, because of all these music threads |
|
I will have to listen to The Replacements, The Smiths, and The Beatles tonight. Damn you people! It's all your fault!;-)

"Why Don't We Do It in the Road?" and "Wild Honey Pie" are great side-enders.

10. I would just pull "Ob La Di, Ob La Da" off side A... |
|
it ruins a perfectly good opening side. God, I hate that song.

14. I'll concede that it is a happy song... |
|
and understand why some enjoy it but for me it just smacks too much of the straw hat and cane music hall doo-dah for which Paul has a...uh... sweet tooth
