1. Actually, they should be instructed how to make good, STRONG coffee...
And if they don't get it, THEN they should be shot!

:-)

10. Simpsons reference.
The elementary school doesn't have enough money to buy coffee, so they have to buy coffee flavored "Beverine." I was just being silly.

6. IMO, people who don't grind their own beans should be
Uhmm.. Sternly informed that pre-ground coffee is disgusting. Also, people who only offer "non-dairy" creamer should be spanked.

22. Ah Yes, Elmer vs Elsie
About 15 years ago, my company contracted with a food service vendor who apparently went on a health kick. Eliminated butter, and substituted margarine, and replaced half and half with non-dairy creamer.

As an FYI...non dairy creamer contains sodium caseinate, which is also one of the ingredients in Elmer's Glue. And instead of having Elsie's good ol' fat, it's laced with partially hydrogenated soybean oil..not necessary a healthier alternative either. (This was in the days before the non-fat creamers.

Looking back, it appeared there was no health benefit to the substitutions!

So a bunch of us in the lab sent letters to the vendor saying we were confused with the new replacements, we didn't know if by using non-dairy creamer we were drinking from Elmer to Elsie.

I think the vendor got enough complaints that butter and half and half were back in the cafeterias.

27. Not a health kick. A cheap kick
After all, it's cheaper to buy that crappy powdered stuff than real half-and-half.

12. IHOP Coffee Warning should read: Caution: Coffee may be very weak.
IHOP has a warning on their coffee carafes to the effect that coffee can be very hot. I have often said that it should warn that the coffee may be very weak.

This could just be my local IHOP. And I do like my coffee to be pretty strong. Disclaimers so IHOP doesn't get mad at me.

I am on Adkins, so pancakes are a no no now.

13. Ahhhhh, the ebony concoction known as coffee...
mmmmm :9

One of the truly great libations this world has ever known.

I feel that if coffee doesn't get you to :bounce: in the AM, it should be banned. This alone makes 3/4 of all the truck stop 'coffee' unpalatable.

Best cup of coffee I ever had was Army coffee. We stopped the Mess truck and demanded our fair share. This got us a 3# can. Much to my chagrin, we had little way of utensils to brew the magic elixir. But,
Thanks to the marvelous capacity for man to improvise , I got a sock, (clean btw),a nd filled it with fresh ground coffee. This was placed in a steel helmet, (wouldn't work w/ the new helmets), filled w/H20 and boiled for 20 minutes. Best cup of coffee I ever had! It would make hair grow on the bottom of your feet!

The last 2 "vices" I have, coffee and nicotine. I gave up booze, drugs and a myriad of other "vices"...but I draw the line at those two. :donut:

O8)

Weak coffee is a waste of coffee, water and time. For those who say they don't like 'strong coffee', here's a clue: There is a difference between strong coffee and stale/scorched coffee.

I need some nooky. I'm a hard worker, a good worker. How come I can't get any while these horrible people can?!

On edit: Oops. I can see a double entendre here. I was talking about working at my job where they make the coffee. I have no SO, I don't make coffee at home. Okay, that applies to those people who do though... as for the double entendre... won't say.
