Review of the movie Rachel Getting Married
The quote was, "They've crafted a movie that hurts to watch, but it's also a celebration of marriage and diversity. I'm very impressed...This movie is mentally moving..."

I don't know about you, but I don't even want to see movies that "hurt to watch" these days.

Funny, how we change, as we get older.... isn't it?

on a serious note, without more context, I don't know if this is either a critic commenting on shitty film-making, or a critic commenting on the subject matter.

3. Sorry I didn't clarify, DS1
That was a movie critic, commenting on the film, on our local news channel. :hi:

2. Ya know, I never liked to go to movies that 'hurt to watch'

Have enough pain in my own life to be entertained watching someone else's pain.

4. Exactly
As strange as it sounds, there was a time in my life when I liked dramatic movies because I thought they might answer questions in my own life... or help me understand other's lives... or some other silly reason. Not any longer. As you said, I have enough pain in my own life.

6. It's sad to watch. There are a lot of emotionally touching scenes...
a lot of conflict between sisters, etc. As curious as I am, I am putting that flick on my "Do Not Watch" list! :hi:
