That's so funny, probably because it reminds me of my mother.

i dont usually laugh much but this did it for me. my mother is 83 and writes urls on little pieces of paper in longhand because she refuses to learn to cut and paste. she also doesnt know how to clink on a link i send her in email. she writes the link down in longhand and then tries to type it into the browser.

My mom's only 71 but it took her at least a year to say DVD correctly. She kept calling it a VD player or BVDs. Anybody that'd correct her would just get a "hell I don't care, I just wanna watch" and then she'd name some old obscure actor who could "park his boots" under her bed anytime. :) She's a riot.

4. You reminded me of the time I tried to show my mom how to use a mouse.. |
|
The computer in her house belonged to her granddaughter (my niece, obviously) and I was trying to show her how to read and send an email. I pointed out to her the mouse pointer on the screen. I said "Now that pointer is controlled by this device here on the desk. It's called a mouse. Now just move the mouse around and the pointer will move on the screen."
She picked the mouse UP and began waving it in front of the monitor.
I got her to try leaving the mouse on the desk and moving it. Then I tried to explain double clicking. I showed her the right and left buttons and explained what they did. "Now double click on that little envelope shaped thingy". She picked the mouse up again and bounced it on the desk twice in rapid succession.
I pretty much gave up at that point.
She prefers writing letters in long hand anyway!

6. Hell, I'm almost that old |
|
And I've lived without a TV for years. Actually, I have one, but there are so many damn wires and cables snaking out of the back it looks like a bowl of black fettuccine and I've never had the patience to sort it out - my PC's a piece of cake compared to that. I identify with that poor Little Old Lady!
I figure if I ever have a compelling need to hook it up, I'll just borrow my neighbor's seven-year-old: she could probably do it in her sleep, and I'd only have to pay her in leftover Halloween candy.

I am getting up there also ..I just got rid of the TV and that was that. The PC is a snap. I have a feeling that my grandson, who is 1, will see me as being terribly behind the times in about 15 yrs. I sent this video to everyone in my family EXCEPT my mother.
