1. I don't know. I think, maybe, yes. I am kind of fucked up in the head. However in my insanity I can't lie and I am in a constant war of good and evil in my head, so I have to conciously be aware of things.

2. AlienGirl. I love her so much and would love to be able to get her cute little things. :loveya:

3. Spend it with AlienGirl. What a silly question. :P

4. Uh.. not usually the same thing twice.. usually, the general grouping of "politics" though.

5. See answers 2 and 3. :D

8. The war of good and evil
I think if everybody were as conscious of both impulses, the creative and destructive, and paid as much attention to keeping their actions on the side of good as you do, a lot fewer bad things would happen.

I think I'll just try to live so the answers will be more worthy.

Thanks! This is very though provoking.

5. Hmmm....
1. If everyone lived as you do would the world be a better place or a worse one?

Better, I hope. That is, I treat people well, help out when I can, and try to make life happier for others whenever possible.

2. When you have extra money, what do you first think of spending it on?

I'm not as romantic as Xen; I think of spending it on food or booze! (Which will be shared with Xen, so it all evens out...) If I have a little more extra, I spend it on back debt. With $300 or more extra--travel to see my kids.

3. When you have a little extra time, what do you do with it?

Kidnap Xen! :loveya: Then we do fun stuff together, like watch videos.

4. When you have an opportunity to start a conversation about whatever you want, what do you bring up?

Spooky weird stuff!

5. When your mind drifts where does it go?

Spooky weird stuff, Xen :loveya: and sex--all of which, remarkably, intersect.

13. My answers.
1. If everyone lived as you do would the world be a better place or a worse one? I think so. If everyone were as liberal and loving and open as I am, I really think that people would benefit from the intelligence of a liberal mind such as mind. LOL

2. When you have extra money, what do you first think of spending it on? A meal with my sweetheart. The most fun we ever have is dining out.

3. When you have a little extra time, what do you do with it? I usually head to DU or watch a movie. I'm a boring gal.

4. When you have an opportunity to start a conversation about whatever you want, what do you bring up? How whoever I'm talking to is doing and what's going on with them.

5. When your mind drifts where does it go? A future with children who I can teach to love everyone no matter what color, sexuality, socioeconomic status someone is/has. I'm so tired of people teaching their children to hate people. As if those people have any control over their skin color or sexuality.

3. Read or DU.
4. The Cubs or politics.

15. Goshen, those are thought provoking
Edited on Fri Feb-27-04 09:49 PM by Rabrrrrrr
1. I think the world WOULD be a better if nothing. If nothing else, those stains Kinkade and Justin Timerblake and Beyonce would all be hanging from the Washington Monument, TV and popular culture would be more interesting and less vacuuous, and most importantly there'd NEVER be another republican in the government. :-) Plus there'd be less wear and tear and better stewardship. On the other hand, humility might go down, and ranting might increase. But then again, there'd be no more need for ranting... Food would be better, too.

2. Some kind of food or cultural experience I either really like, or haven't had before

3. Read, write, paint, compose music, or else, sadly and generally, waste it at DU

4. I like to learn more about the person with whom I am talking

5. Into some realm of creative thought, thinking about new ways to paint, write, or compose, or remembering past cocnerts, past art I've seen, or perhaps even friends and travels I've been on. The mind spends a lot of time going "What if. . . ?"

29. DU, I think
can't really be called a waste of time. Even when we're just socialising here, we make connections that affirm some of the values, the ethics, the better aspects of mankind. We grow, we evolve, we make each other think and we support one another when we're down.

31. Agreed!
Without DU, I wouldn't have met you and RBNYC and RKZ and GOPisEvil and WillPitt and all those wonderful, wonderful thinkers who are here, and I wouldn't have learned as much as I have about current politics, and about religion and theology.

A wonderful place, this DU!

Though sometimes I am on too long, and am not as productive otherwise as I should be... :-)

Hugs!

1. If everyone lived as you do would the world be a better place or a worse one? Better; I live very, very simply.

2. When you have extra money, what do you first think of spending it on? Someone else. Right now I send care packages and toys to Iraq.

3. When you have a little extra time, what do you do with it? I like to take it easy and veg.

4. When you have an opportunity to start a conversation about whatever you want, what do you bring up? I live in Texas and love to torment conservatives with the FACTS.

5. When your mind drifts where does it go? I worry about what is happening to my beloved America. I worry about losing my job and health insurance and stuff.

19. 5 on the side...
1. If everyone lived as you do would the world be a better place or a worse one?
If we're talking about general behavior, it would be better: more polite, definitely goofiery and more relaxed, more open, more *liberal*.

2. When you have extra money, what do you first think of spending it on?
I collect Hopi katsina carvings, so I've always got an eye out for those. Also, I like to contribute to non-profits that help animals, from habitat to rescue -- the gamut.

3. When you have a little extra time, what do you do with it?
It's often spent on DU, but I like to play guitar, write and read. I make it a point to play and interact with my cats every day, but that's not really "extra" time.

4. When you have an opportunity to start a conversation about whatever you want, what do you bring up?
I like to break the tension quickly, so that the conversation will flow naturally; I usually go for some subtle humor early on, possibly some badinage about a situation shared with the listener.

5. When your mind drifts where does it go?
Since my mom passed away a year ago, it's been going back to various times when she was around. I miss her. I miss my dad, too, who died more than 20 years ago. I like to dream of the desert -- its comforting silence, the smell of the smoke trees and sage, the sound of cicadas, and the audacity of the bold, blue sky against soft red sands.

22. Now my head hurts...but I'll try.
1. I don't know. I'd like to be subjective, but it's hard. I think I am a nice person, but I am impatient which is definitely not a virtue. So, while I think the world sould be different, I am afraid to say it would be better...

2. Food, I am a grocery store freak. I love checking out new stores. I have this constant need to fill the larders at home. I feel good when I have seven thousand choices to make for dinner....and then we end up having hot dogs.

3. I sleep, or moderate...or both. ;)

4. The state of the earth, my fears for the future, my love of my kids.

5. To the toilet in the bathroom that needs to be scrubbed but I just can't bring myself to scrub. I can picture it scrubbed though. :hi:

Have a great night SOteric! Those were great questions!

That's hard to say.....the world would be quieter but more desperate; sadder but also more thoughtful.

2. When you have extra money, what do you first think of spending it on?

Other people.

3. When you have a little extra time, what do you do with it?

Sketch. Paint. Read. Think.

4. When you have an opportunity to start a conversation about whatever you want, what do you bring up?

Nothing. (If you mean conversation as in talking face to face, not online).

5. When your mind drifts where does it go?

Into sadness.

26. OK, what the hell...
1. If everyone lived as you do would the world be a better place or a worse one?

Well, that's hard to say. Would you want to live in a world where everyone married their first love for happily ever after, if it was also a world where you couldn't get a beer?

Seriously, I think it might be better in some ways--there'd be less killin', for instance. But the nation's productivity would probably decline sharply, unless cutting down on the booze counteracted the procrastination effect.

2. When you have extra money, what do you first think of spending it on?

Going out to dinner with my partner, generally. If it was a LOT of money, of course, that would be different...but it never is.

3. When you have a little extra time, what do you do with it?

If I don't piss it away on the internet, I usually write.

4. When you have an opportunity to start a conversation about whatever you want, what do you bring up?

Whatever thing is passing through my head at the moment.

5. When your mind drifts where does it go?

Either to my partner, or here:
