This afternoon, I held up a NO on 8 sign at one of the busier intersections here in Irvine!
We got a lot more honks and thumbs up than I was expecting.

:woohoo:

My husband, my daughter, another Irvine resident, and I were there. It was really gratifying...

:woohoo:

1. Awesome!
I handed out No on 8 signs at school, and we ran out. Tuesday we're window chalking our cars. :D

3. I wish the phonebank had had the buttons and the bumper stickers.
We did get bumper that say "I am a Constitution Voter". We have two signs. One is in our window and one was used on the street.

10. You left your camera in the car?
Is the car in the garage?

If so, you're the only Kollyforniyan I know who has that much room in their garage.

12. When I had a two-car garage
there wasn't room for a Matchbox car. x(

In fact, it became a running joke. Anytime we couldn't find something, Chery and I would say, in unison, "It's in a box... in the garage." :)

I miss having a basement. That is where all the packratty shit used to go.

15. Sounds like my dad's house.
Actually, he does have a car and two motorcycles in the garage, but you have to move boxes to get the motorcycles out, and there are still more boxes on top of the car (it's his project car, and currently needs a part- unfortunately that part is an engine.)

17. BIG part
My BIL's got the same deal goin' on with his '78 Triumph Spitfire. He bought it around 1990 and I doubt he's put more than 2,500 miles on it. It's been one of those long-term projects.

18. Well, he took the engine out to get rebuilt when I was in the 8th grade
and stopped on the way to grab his paycheck from work. Came back out of his job and his old Chevy stepside and the 'vette engine in the back were both gone.

And nobody's done a damn thing with the car since. :eyes:

20. '59
The thing ran like shit but the body was sweet. That was going to be the next project. :eyes:

The damn-near 20 years dead Corvette isn't even his longest-neglected project, he has a '65 shovelhead that's been disassembled and mostly in boxes since before I was born.

Thank god he doesn't live in the country, or he'd have rusty cars on the lawn.

I was totally in lust with a '57 when I was 16. Root Beer Brown, 327, Ansen Sprint wheels. But where's a 16-year-old gonna get $1,500 in 1972?

You bad. I'm still nervous wearing my Obama shirt in Whittier...lol.

And here you are taking it to the streets behind the Orange Curtain.

EDITED because that last sentence sounded way too dirty as originally written.

24. My husband and I are both rather 'formidable'
Both of us are over 6 feet tall. I weigh about 190 and my husband weighs about 250 and looks like a linebacker.

28. Thank you all....
We had quite a few corners in Ventura County with people dedicated
to letting voters know that there are so many who will be voting No on 8.

Many stood there with their No on 8 signs hours in the rain.

30. I was one of a group of people holding a sign in San Diego
Friday afternoon I was with some people from the Black Mountain Democratic Club, which is my local Democratic club, who were holding up signs at one of the major busy intersections in Mira Mesa. I think my sign said "No on Fear, No on 8".

We got a good number of people honking their support and giving their thumbs up, and some passersby indicating their support. We also had some people, who might be considered rednecks, driving in their pickup trucks and shouting yes on 8 as they went by.

I was glad to do my small part.
