For the safety of my good name, I fear I must resign my job. |

The retailer business is far to stagnate in their way of doing business. There i far to much sneaking around and brown nosing in this area of work as well. It is also far to greedy and self-deceiving by calling wat they do "great customer service".
As for the upper management, they want to put their mistakes on the lower employees. This seems to be the main source for such high turn-over rates that this particular corporation has.

There is something bad going on as well. Management getting into registers and entering a "NO SALE" and expecting the associates to put their names on them. As well as just saying hat they had to get correct change. Which would be a lie. I can't be sure if they are taking anything out yet. and they get real touchy if they think you have been talking with a visiting district manager.

I thought HR was put in place for the employees?
If something against company policy is going down HR needs to know, and it is their jobs to keep it quiet until an investigation is complete.

5. One of the problems is HR |
|
My boss is part of the HR department and the one I am expected to tell. I am going to call the national hotline. I called the Department of Labor already due to the lack of OSHA information posted for the employees. And before those that will be in trouble an cause me any I am going to get out of reach.

8. Good! Go above their heads. |

Good idea, call the national hotline and report everything you've seen and heard. Keep meticulous notes, time and day...etc.
Good luck!

6. That sucks, i just got screwed out of a promotion. |

I have been with this small company a locally owned ATT retailer longer than anyone at my store and have been assisting the manager (closing, inventory, depositis for a while now). They brought in a guy who I like but they made him assistant manager over me, they said because I am leaving in a year. This is retail a year is a lifetime, Ive been here a year and 2 months and I am the 3rd most senior in the entire comapny. i plan to try to get a good job when we move (to Dallas) and I wanted the job, not for the money which is not really any more like 200 dollars a month but i plan to have a real career someday. It just pisses me off. The guy who owns this is not a very good business man a McCain supporter and doesnt understand what a manager should be. All the other workers at my store told me that they want me to be the assistant yet to no avail i am not.

9. Why does this always happen when one can't afford to quit? |
|
When my father was newly divorced with a child support order, he had to quit his sales job because he found out the company was crooked.

11. I totally feel for him. |

I can't live with myself if I try and stay. Every Journalist fiber in me screams at me about it. It started a week and a half into the job, but I tried to tell myself that I was just being silly. But now it has been over 30 days and I have seen far to much to keep myself quiet anymore. I can overlook the bad training for myself. However, when I see the powers that be use the others under them to save their jobs due to their own incompetence, I can not stay quiet!

10. This s the reason I will be giving as my reasons for quiting. I'll stick with the main issues... |
|
with myself ( the usual reasons for people to quit)and give my other reasons to the national hotline.
"The training that is I needed to know my area was lacking. The lack of the constancy of who was my supervisor was disheartening. Managers did not answer questions with consistently, that is they did not say the same things about same jobs. One would say one thing and another would tell me that was wrong and tell me to do certain jobs another way. It has been the express feeling by my superiors that their shortcomings as managers are being put upon my shoulders."
