I downloaded Windows MP onto my Mac to see Kerry's ads, but |
|
it ain't working. whenever I click on a link to watch video, it says "cannot open file. Make sure path and file name are correct"
WTF?
Anybody know how to fix this?
Anybody know how to get Kerry to use Quicktime?
Seriously, I hate MS products, and I didn't want to download it, but I wanted to be a good Dem and see Kerry's ads.
Need help ......

but a friend at work downloaded Win MP onto her Mac and her computer was screwed up for weeks -- new problems kept cropping up. Hope you don't run into the same problems.

3. I've found RealPlayer generally works better than WMP on my Mac |
|
but of course QuickTimes are best :D Kerry's ads are in RealPlayer format as well. For example: http://mfile.akamai.com/10211/rm/johnkerry.download.akamai.com/10211/022704_word_real_dsl.ramA computer without a Microsoft operating system is like a chocolate cake without mustard.

It works fine. Which is a relative term; But still, a path error would seem to be on Kerry's side. There really is no "path" for you to deal with to simply play a clip. If you already downloaded it, clicking on it will make it play. But, if you downloaded just a link to the clip and it got broken, it could give a path error message.
On edit: I just tried Wonk's link; it downloads a .ram file, which is Real Media. But when I click on it, I get an "invalid file format" message. Duh...it is a Real Player file. Either DL yet another dumbass player, or maybe somebody will be nice enough to convert it to QT and re-post it for us! And send a copy to John!

6. Real Player works well |
|
on my Mac. I use Netscape 7.1 so the RealPlayer plug-in should work. Haven't tried it with Safari yet. I do hope the poster isn't using IE. On a Windoze nmachine at a friend's they even have problems with all the Windoze stuff.
