There are some intensely stupid people on Myspace.
Just saying.

How many times can I point out the USA was established with a secular government? How many times can I point out that religious tests for public office are explicitly unconstitutional? The level of ignorance about basic facts of history and science in this country is both astonishing and depressing. How many times can I debunk the whole Obama-is-a-Muslim thing? :-(

1. As for the whole Obama is a Muslim thing
I would quote Colin Powell.."He's not, but even if he was why does that matter?".

3. Tell them to read the bill of rights
Sounds like none of them have ever bothered to do that. I don't think the word "Christian" is mentioned once for some odd reason...

4. I tell them over and over again.
How many times do I have to cut and paste the First Amendment and the no-religious-tests-for-public-office clause.

Some people are just plain stupid and they do it to themselves because the prospect of admitting error is worse than actually being wrong.

5. Willful ignorance
Even some of the rather intelligent fundies refuse to see what they don't want to--and they fear what would happen if they did. I worked with one..no slouch interllectually but unwilling to admit ANY of his beliefs were wrong.

9. After my first few days on Myspace
I have stayed out of the political discussion boards there. Some of those people have really scary, misinformed ideas.
It is amazing how people can be so bigotted.
My sister has a friend that not only thought that Obama was a Muslim, but that being Muslim made him a likely terrorist. Since he is a white Christian male, she asked him if that made him a likely Nazi. He didn't seem to understand the comparison.

10. You make it easy for people to have a Web presence, and you're inviting Teh Stoopid.
It's an inevitable by-product of democracy.
