Anybody else see "Treehouse of Horror XIX" tonight?

1. The entire season has sucked hard this year

2. I thought it was pretty good overall

I'm with DS1 about the season sucking so far this year, though ...

3. I thought the Peanuts take-off was really funny

4. It was okay at best.

Their ToH shows are usually very good.

5. I've been disappointed in recent years.

The Transformers spoof just wasn't good enough. it was, what, five minutes long at best? The second bit had a great opening sequence, but the story was pretty blah. I liked the Peanuts spoof the best, but it was still pretty weak.

Not that I expect much from The Simpsons in Season 20, but still...

6. If The Simpsons continue to suck like this, people will start to think that Family Guy is funny

And God help us all, if it comes to that.


For me, The Simpsons finally nuked the fridge with the "Evita" episode a few years ago. That stinker was so bad that it single-handedly poisoned the rest of the season, and I just haven't been interested enough to go back ever since. Sure, I saw the film, and I'll watch the Treehouse of Horror episodes, but the spark is long gone.

Still, the ending sequence for "Gracie Films" is funnier than the entire fun of Family Guy, so I can't complain too much.

8. My favorite part, by FAR, was the opening.

"SIX votes for President McCain!"

"Hey, I only meant one of those votes for McCain! This voting machine is rigged! Must... Tell... President McCain!"

That was the most I laughed the entire episode, unfortunately.
