Hunters driving all over the place all weekend, wandering lost Mexicans needing food and water twice yesterday, and now a major skunk spraying right up at the back of the house. Ah...autumn in the country.:eyes:

2. If it makes you feel any better |

I'm a trucker and I run on a lot of rural roads. The creature that I see most of the year as the highest victim of road kill is the skunk. This time of year the deer temporarily takes the lead, but most of the time it's the skunk.

4. I-10 is less than a 1/4 mile away and it seems to have |

about 3 or 4 flattened skunks to the mile but at that distance the stink is completely tolerable (smells like good weed - hence that term "skunk", I guess) but when it is within 10 feet (or right out the still-open doors and windows) you don't even smell it, you just get an oily coating in your mouth and it gags.:puke:
