Cyberstalking etiquette
So this weekend I went on a birding trip, and there was the CUTEST guy there... OMG... SO cute.

I thought he might be gay, but I wasn't sure.

At the end of the trip, I failed to get his contact information.

Through the miracle of cyberstalking, I found his Myspace, and he is gay, but I think he and my friend would totally hit it off. They live near each other, they're both into birds, and I think they'd have a lot to talk about.

If he didn't offer me his contact information, would it be too wierd to contact him on his Myspace and try to hook him up with my friend?

7. This is why I'm not on Myspace.
Though it is very useful for digging up shit on other people, and I appreciate that.

8. It would be tremendously creepy, yes
Your heart appears to be in the right place, but it would take a lot to overcome his first inevitable creeped-out reaction.

9. I sat down, and I thought about it, and I decided why not?
The worst that can happen in this guy on the other side of the state thinks I'm a freak.

The best thing that can happen is that this dude and my friend totally hit it off, get married tonight while it's still legal in California, and have 57 babies together. :)

10. I don't think it's that creepy, as long as you interacted with this guy to some extent
on the trip. Just tell him you enjoyed talking to him, and that you have a friend in his area who is looking for birding buddies. It's pretty easy to ignore people on myspace, right?

11. We totally interacted
We spent half the trip hanging out with some other folks on the front of the boat, and last night we chatted a bit after dinner.

This guy would know who I am after the trip.

12. In that case, 100% non-creepy. What else are social networks for?
Some people are averse to overt match-making, but it's pretty easy to tactfully introduce friends who you think might like each other, even from a distance. Definitely send the message...
