5. They are all "instant messenger" programs.

And they are all free to download and use. They allow you to chat with anyone you are connected to, no matter where in the world they are. Skype is also used as free Internet-telephony, so long as you have a microphone and speakers or headphones. I picked up a headphone/mic combo for about $15 so I could talk to my girlfriend in New Zealand. I could never do that with the regular phone service :o

But I think I'm going to watch cabaret-style bellydance tomorrow night (if I can get around town safely) ;)

I'm still kentauros on Skype, but try to keep my other instant messenger nicks somewhat private. I'll probably come on later in the evening, like 10pm CST.

I've never done a big room on Skype and I'm not sure if it can do that, unless you're talking about conference calling ;)
