we picked up my Mom's ashes today |
|
(or as the mortuary calls it, the "cremated remains")
We got her a really nice inlaid wood container, kind of a Southwestern Native American bowl. Not quite the Big Lebowski coffee can, but pretty inexpensive compared to some.
My sister said Mom looked really beautiful prior to the cremation.
I wish Mom would have lived long enough for the election---either way, the outrage or the joy one would undoubtedly have killed her, but she would have loved to have seen it I know.
It's stuff like this the mortuary visit that's pretty easy for some reason. It's turning the corner in the hall and seeing her picture on the wall or finding the quilt she made me long ago, or her favorite shirt of mine...those are the hard things.
-sigh-
Thanks again for all your support and kindness last week.

I can also imagine your Mom witnessing the election. I'm so sorry, leftofthedial.

My Mum's cremains are in a Columnbarium in Niagara Falls Ontario.
 It's the little things that will keep her memory alive in your heart and mind.
