Halloween drawing scares teacher, gets student in hot water

Fifth-grader Jordan Hood thought the bloody vampire he drew in art class was scary, but he had no idea it would elicit a horrifying response from one of his teachers.

Tuesday morning, Jordan was assigned to draw a scary Halloween mask in art class.

By the end of the day, Jordan was being told he could not return to Pooler Elementary School until he passed a psychological evaluation.

"We live in an age where there is some hypersensitivity," Bucky Burnsed, Savannah-Chatham school system spokesman, said Thursday. "But the child is back in school where he belongs."

2. I support the teacher in this.
That looks way more like a Frankenstein than a vampire. Dumb kid.

7. The teacher assigned the project and the art teacher helped him.
The kid is NOT dumb. The teacher is the one who needs a mental evaluation.

8. The teacher is correct; that is a frightening picture.
Consider that said vampire has flat, normal teeth. Imagine the tearing and ripping which must occur before the desired blood becomes available.

The kid is a loose cannon, a time bomb. He's a Jason or a Freddy just waiting to happen, and this teacher is trying to tell us all. Per typical horror film plot, no one will listen to her, and the kid sits there, no one watching him, with an evil smile on his face. Soon we will all know the horror this child is waiting to unleash, and it's no one's fault but our own.

Or something.

3. The teacher should be scared.
That's a pretty good depiction of a Werewolfowitz.

The kid just needed him licking a comb.

5. Ridiculous!
If you're going to assign someone to draw something scary then you have to accept the results.

The teacher went way overboard on this.

"But it wasn't blood and gore that bothered Pevey. She believed the blood looked a lot like gang-related teardrop tattoos, and she thought the words "I Kill For Blood" could be tied to an infamous Los Angeles street gang known as The Bloods."

How do some people even graduate college?

"So they resolved the issue by requiring Jordan to undergo psychological testing with Gateway Mental Health."

Or else what? The kid has a RIGHT to a free appropritae public education. What is the "punishment" if mom refuses? She needs to cal the ACLU.

Sounds like racist bullshit to me.
