I watched the election in a bar in Downtown Vancouver filled with
Progressives. Our next mayor, who's a bit of a mini-Obama, hosted it. Lots of US ex-pats in the room and it was great to see them so happy. One American guy by the name of Jim Green is a former Vancouver councillor and mayoral candidate. I caught him crying into a hanky.

1. I didn't know anyone carried a hanky anymore.
They were honking up and down the streets here, and at least somebody saved some bottle rockets!

2. I went to a bar very late
I was the only one there celebrating. And this was in MA, in a very liberal town in liberal MA.

The bar I went to earlier, however, was all for Obama. Guess which one has a much better taste in music, and isn't cash only :D

3. haha, that's so typical, isn't it?
The bar I was at was full of gorgeous girls too.. gorgeous progressive girls!
Of course, I spent all night in the corner with the other off-duty reporters who came "as work, sort of" it was really just an excuse to be in a cool place to watch the election and swap some rumours and talk politics with people in the know. Plus, as reporters we got in the door without donating to the soon-to-be mayor's campaign!
